Celebrating Languages and Cultures in Queensland

In August our students in the “Young Learners” and ” Beginners” kids classes participated at the festival of “Celebrating Languages and Cultures in Queensland” amongst more than 15 other language schools. The annual festival is hosted by the Ethnic Schools Association of Queensland Inc. Our students performed the popular German songs “Brüderchen komm tanz mit mir!”and “Grün ja grün sind alle meine Kleider”.

Special Guests included: Duncan Pegg MP, State Member for Stretton representing The Honourable Annastacia Palaszczuk MP, Premier of Queensland and Honourable Grace Grace MP Minister for Employment and Industrial Relations, Minister for Racing and Minister for Multicultural Affairs as well as Chief Guest: Terry Butler MP, Federal Member for Griffith and Shadow Assistant Minister for Family Violence and Child Safety, Shadow Assistant Minister for Universities and Shadow Assistant Minister for Equality

It was a wonderful afternoon celebrating our diversity. Our little BGLS students made us very proud with their language skills, courage & outstanding performance!

A BIG thank you for Sandra Macha-Peck (teacher of our “Young Learners class”) and all the other teachers and parents involved in making this day a success and a very special day to remember.
