ADULT TEACHERS

We are currently looking for teachers for our adult classes on Saturday mornings from 09:00 – 11:45 and on Thursday evenings from 18.00 – 20:15 at St Peter’s Lutheran College, Indooroopilly.

We would like to hear from teachers with the following qualifications and skills:

  • Native speaker of German or equivalent level of language proficiency, with a profound knowledge of German grammar
  • Qualification as a foreign language instructor with A1 and A2 teaching experience
  • Experience in conducting classes in German
  • Experience in teaching groups of various sizes (up to 12 students in one group)
  • Ability to teach adult students and to understand their cognitive learning needs
  • Excellent time management and planning skills
  • High level written and verbal communication skills (both English and German)
  • Ability to work unsupervised and be part of a team.

YOUTH TEACHERS

We offer youth classes on Saturday mornings from 09:00 – 11:45, at St Peter’s Lutheran College, Indooroopilly.

We are currently looking for teachers with the following qualifications and skills:

  • Native-speaker of German or equivalent level of language proficiency, with an extensive understanding of German culture
  • Self motivated
  • Excellent time management and planning skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Experience in teaching German (especially grammar) to secondary level and youth from 10 years of age
  • German degree or equivalent A2 teaching experience
  • Valid Blue Card for Working with Children (or ability to obtain one)
  • High level written and verbal communication skills (both English and German)

Staff members will need to be responsible for the progress, assessment, welfare and discipline of the students and develop constructive relationships with students, parents and fellow staff.

As we are a community school, we hold fundraising events throughout the year. Your participation in these events may also be required.

Please note: Our school is not suitable for Internships because of limited teaching hours and Summer school holidays in Australia are from December – January.
